There are now two art classes which take the form of full day workshops approximately once a month in the Church Hall on a Saturday and a Tuesday.
There are about 12 participants in each class who vary in age and ability, ranging from those who have not painted since schooldays to more experienced amateurs.
As well as eating homemade cake, students explore a variety of drawing and painting techniques. Most students, at present, tend to choose acrylics for their own projects.
Plenty of time is left for students to pursue their own projects under the guidance of the tutor, Simon Brock, artist, from Silkstone Common.
The first group, which started in October 2012, have now had three local exhibitions and the next one is planned for the 2016 Hoylandswaine Festival in mid July.
